Recently,we have been learning about his books and what he does to make people read his books so Mrs Charlesworth read 5 books and we noted the setting, characters and what it’s all about. We read The witches, Magic finger, The twits, Georges marvellous medicine and Esio trot. I learnt that Roald Dahl likes his fictional characters( made up ones) also we had learnt that he didn’t always use settings but might do a brief one.
In Spanish we have learnt how to say our names and birthday. We also have created posters from what we had learnt already.There are so many words we have already tried saying! We also heard some Spanish music and it was so beautiful and relaxing.
Recently, we have been doing a project on mountains and created a mountain structure of a mountain or a mountain range. They’re all fantastic as they’re have very good imagination to create a wonderful structure. We have also looked at how mountains form as there is a dome mountain, fold mountain and block mountain. They all form differently and change too. It can be man made or natural so some couldn’t be prevented also it depends on if it’s dangerous for man made things like K2.
This week some people did bikeability while the others did a project on mountains.In bikeability we did coming into junctions and coming out of junctions . Also we have learnt to be able to control the speed of our bike when we are in a snake or in traffic or even coming upto a junction .We have been learnt to use signals so that a car behind or infront knows where we are going . Also some of us have been told about sighns and what they mean as we will need to use them in future so that we are safe and so are other drivers . To know what we have to know we were given a book about everything on the road and sometimes the instructors told us about stuff that we need to know about riding our bike on the road . As we have already completed level 1 of our bikeability test we have been sent up to level 2 which is a little harder as we have been doing junctions and to keep the traffic behind us , which is where we must move our bike into controll position but once we have completed the turning we must move back to sharing position , which is where we are going to let other traffic over take us.

Recently, we have been learning how people care for the rivers. They go through many things that are all in cause to stop pollution [water pollution] these are caused by junk and factories waste . It’s not just that there’ s more. Also there are ways to defend floods like: flood warnings, dams [to let out water], embankments and walls .
We saw the way we can tell how high the water is and if its polluted by people taking examples of the river . There’s a enviromental station which keeps control of the river like the flow and how clean the water is .

Recently, we have been looking at poetry by Pie Corbett! Here’s the poems we’ve looked at : The playground monster , The kiss and When I heard the the music . They are all lovely poems, but we have looked at the similarites and differences, plus we chose the one we liked the best.We stuck the poems in our Literacy Books, and then highlighted the rhyming words. Eg. down and frown!
Eloise liked The playground monster, because it used personification eg. tarmac jaws .It was about the playground. Priya liked When I heard the music, because it was told how he imagined the music, also it had a lovely flow to it.
We all enjoyed the poems, and it was brilliant to see everyone’s opinion of what they thought was good!

Recently, we have been doing life cycles of frogs,butterflies and grasshoppers ! There are four stages for the butterfly and grasshopper they both start as an egg then change to the next stage of their life. They don’t live long as their growing up takes ages . Frogs change through the stages differently to the butterfly and grasshopper! We have done a leaflet of a frog.
