Today in English Mrs Charlesworth read five stories by Roald Dahl. Here are the stories that she read:The Twits, The Magic Finger, Esio Trot, The Witches and Georges Marvellous Medicine. We had to write notes about where the story was set, What do we think the plot is and about the characters. After that we had to write what we thought Roald Dahls characters were like.

Monday afternoon we got back from Hilltop. Hilltop was really fun and my favourite part was the disco on Saturday night. When the song Watch me whip came on everyone done the dance even the instructors did. The instructers were very nice and helped us if we were struggling in an activity. After the disco the tuck shop opened and  i brought some sweets and a drink also a purple wrist band .On sunday night the tuck shop opened again and i didnt buy anthing that night. The activites were really fun and my favourite was the tree top trail.

Tomorrow some of year 5 are going to hilltop and some aren’t. Also we carried on with our mountains yesterday.Also the people who are doing the 11+ had practiste tests on Verbal and NonVerbal. We had a certain time to do each test.

This week year 5 have been doing tests. We had 3 maths tests and a spelling test and also a writing assements.There were 24 spelling questions.

Today in English we got into groups and acted out a poem called Benny Mcever. We could chose what scene we did. After that we acted them out in front of the class and the rest of the class had to guess what scene we did. My group did the scene where Benny went to court because he stole a gold watch.

In  R.E. we have been doing Puja trays. They are trays that Hindus use when worshiping.Today we are carrying on with our Puja trays.When Hindus pray they put fruit on the trays to give to the Gods. Also  they ring a bell to let the Gods know that the Hindus are there.They dont have to worship all the gods, they can choose who to worship for a particular reason.

Also when we have finished blogging we will go on purple mash to code. Since we are in year 5 we go on gorilla mode

Today in English we read poems by Pie Corbett.The funniest poem that we read was called the Kiss. We all read 3 poems.The other 2 were called When i heard the music and The playground monster. Also we did maths and in math we had book 7 page 119 and 112. Me and Charlie found it very fun and easy.It was about graphs.

After that  we did reading. Since Im in a higher reading group than Charlie we do different things. For Charlie she did homework and my group did silent reading. Also Charlie had to pick a new book and Evie Randsoms book won. The book is called Demon dentist by David Wallims.

We are waiting to see what is ahead of us for the afternoon…

Today we finished doing our life cycles about frogs. They were little booklets and they were amazing and really fun to make. We looked up information on the laptops about frogs so that we knew some more facts. Then we went out for play. When we came back in we had 5 minutes to perfect our little booklets that we made.

Also the day before we learned more about rivers. It was really fun as us all. We also watched a little clip on rivers so that we could write about it.
