Numicon

In Maths today, we used the Numicon to help us with our  Fractions, Decimals and Percentages. We made 100, 50, 40 and 75 holes with different shapes, sizes and colours. Each colour represented a fraction out of 100, 50, 40 and 75 like 17/40.

Can you think of some fractions equivalent to 17/40?

Drawing Memory Game

On Tuesday 9th May 2016, we had to draw a peculiar picture. One by one, we went outside to look at the picture on the whiteboard and the person who went outside had to describe the picture to the person drawing. It had twenty different shapes to memorize and describe to the others. There were six maximum in a group.

Would you be able to draw it like we did?

Poetry

We have learnt three poems by Pie Corbett.

The three different types of poems were called:

The Playground Monster,When i heard the music and The kiss. We tried to find all of the rhymes. We also tried to count all of the syllables on each line and find the pattern on each one of the poems.

Frogs

For the last few days,we have been creating an amazing frog fact book.

Individuals have been known to weigh almost a kilogram, and are unmistakable with their folds of skin. Those excessive skin folds have lent the species their nickname, Titicaca Scrotum Frog. Unfortunately it is also considered to be an aphrodisiac when mixed with honey, the roots of a local plant, and several other products, and consumed as a “thick shake”. They are also affected by habitat destruction and climate change, and their population is estimated to have decreased considerably over the past 20 years.

Can you name some frogs?

In science today, we are testing to see what liquid will make a sunflower grow the best.

I worked with Charlie C, Ben G, Lemar S and Jack W. We had a great time testing our experiment. In the whole class, there’s 5 groups.
